The North Greenville Trailblazers had a tough day on the road in Aiken, South Carolina, falling to the Pacers of USC Aiken in a doubleheader with final scores of 6-1 and 5-0. Solid pitching performances by the Pacers kept the NGU bats silent throughout the afternoon. After USC Aiken got on the board with a run in the 2nd and a run in the 3rd in game one, North Greenville would post a run with a sacrifice fly by Lexi Metcalf. However, that would turn out to be the only run of the day for the Trailblazers. USC Aiken would open the lead back up with a four-run 5th inning.
Karley Green pitched the first 4.0 innings and was charged with the loss.
Owyen Lyall took the mound for game two. USCA was able to get on the board with a run in the 1st and continued to build on their lead throughout, scoring two runs in the 3rd, a run in the 4th, and a run in the 6th. The Trailblazers managed just two hits in game two. NGU fell to an overall record of 8-6 for the season.
Ansley Fowler finished the day with three hits.
Emily Blackwell posted two hits including a double.
Lexie Metcalf recorded two hits and an RBI by way of a sacrifice fly.
North Greenville will return to action on Thursday, February 26th against the Lions of Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, North Carolina.
