Tigerville – North Greenville's busy week started off with a non-conference split with Lander on Tuesday dropping a 3 – 1 decision in the first but bouncing back with a 4 – 2 win in game two.
The Bearcats took a 2 – 0 lead in a pitcher's dual in game one with solo runs in the third and sixth innings. They added a third run in the seventh inning. North Greenville's offense struggled to scratch any runs in the first game.
Jordan Slocum got NGU on the board in the home half of the final inning with an RBI triple. The base hit brought around
Emily Blackwell.
For the game, NGU left 9 on base including a pair in the sixth inning.
Emily Blackwell led NGU in game one going 2 – 4 with a run scored. Slocum was 2 – 4 with an RBI while
Karley Green was also 2 – 4.
North Greenville jumped out in front during game one with the help of Halee Whiteside. Whiteside launched her first homer of the season in the opening frame, a two run blast that made it 2 – 0.
Maddie Stone would tack on an RBI in the fourth inning. Whiteside added her third RBI of the game in the fifth inning with a screaming line drive in to left field that scored
Emily Blackwell for the second time in in game two.
Owyen Lyall turned in a pitching gem tossing a complete game allowing just two runs on on seven hits. Lyall struck-out two in her second win of the season. Whiteside finished 2 – 3 with three RBI and a run scored. Blackwell was 2 – 4 with a pair of runs scored.
