Tigerville, S.C. — The second indoor race for North Greenville is in the books after the Trailblazers spent Friday at the inaugural Tryon Banked College Invite.
For the men, Joseph McBride delivered a standout performance by capturing first place in the 5,000 meters, crossing the line in 15:32 to lead the field. In the 3,000 meters, Dominique Cox recorded a fourth-place finish with a time of 9:23, while teammate Kai Johnson followed closely behind in sixth place at 9:39.
Sprinter Kaleb Stephens-Neal showcased his speed in the short sprints, finishing fourth in his preliminary heat with a personal-best time of 6.92. He went on to place seventh in his final heat, clocking 7.03.
In the field events, Taylor Campbell earned a fourth-place finish in the weight throw, posting a mark of 15.82 meters. Bryce Hamby added another top-five result for the Crusaders, placing fifth in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.30 meters. Rounding out the field efforts, Johnerio Holt finished ninth in the shot put, recording a throw of 13.93 meters.
Leading the way for the women was Kathleen Dombroski, who turned in an outstanding run in the 400 meters, finishing second overall with a personal-record time of 25.58. Her mark currently stands as the No. 43 provisional time in NCAA Division II, signaling a strong early-season showing.
In the middle-distance events, Ellie Timmons earned a third-place finish in the 1,000 meters, crossing the line in 3:04. Distance runner Riley Shope added another top-six performance for the Crusaders, placing sixth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:39.
Rounding out the day's efforts, Cecily Anderton competed in the 3,000 meters, finishing 15th with a time of 10:58.
