Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers ended their week with a 68-63 victory over the Hawks of Shorter University this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium. Both halves proved to be competitive as neither team led by more than seven. NGU trailed by six with 3:32 remaining in the game. However, a ten point run would put the Trailblazers up by four with 31 seconds left in the game. Two free throws by Shorter cut the deficit back down to two, but free throws by the Trailblazers would put the game on ice, ultimately allowing NGU to end things with a five point win. North Greenville shot .373 for the game. Second chance points proved to be a large factor as fifteen offensive rebounds led by nineteen points for the Trailblazers while the Hawks failed to record a single second chance point.
Savion Brown posted 21 points along with 4 rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Carter Bobbitt neared a double-double with 19 points and 8 rebounds as well as two steals.
Josh Linder finished with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
NGU will face the Barton Bulldogs on Monday, January 19th in Wilson, North Carolina.
