Brevard, NC- Today the Trailblazers took a trip up north to Brevard, North Carolina for the Brevard Distance Classic. Despite some weather challenges, the men finished third with an average time of 29 minutes for the 8k distance among many Conference Carolinas, as well as Division I, II, III, and NAIA programs.
Crossing the line first for the Trailblazers was junior
Joel Herman, who finished 6
th with a time of 27:30. Next, junior Chas Brewer finished 16
th with a time of 28:09. Junior
Kai Johnson finished 36
th with a time of 29:00. In his first college race, freshman
Joseph McBride finished in 43
rd with a time of 29:20. Junior
Dominique Cox finished in 53
rd with a time of 29:44. Junior
Ben Jaminet finished in 79
th with a time of 30:49. Freshman
Brady Chavis rounded out the Trailblazers and finished 95
th with a time of 31:45.

"Our men's team finished 3
rd and beat some conference schools in the mix there. I thought it was a good day, and I'm proud! But we have a long way to go, and we've got to keep working hard and staying healthy."
Next, the Trailblazers will head on a road trip to Louisville, Kentucky for the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic, hosted by the University of Louisville on October 4
th.
