Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers put together a 9-5 victory against the Cobras of Coker University this evening at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. NGU quickly overcame an early lead by Coker and pulled away in the middle innings.
Brady Price took the mound for his 5th start of the season. The evening began with two runs in the 1st by the Cobras. However, NGU responded with a run in the 1st as well as a run in the 2nd, both in the form of RBI singles by
Tristan Salinas and
Bryce Roddey. The scoring continued into the 3rd as the Trailblazers would reclaim the lead with a solo home run by
Josh Foulks and an RBI by
Thomas Powell. Two more runs would score in the 4th including an RBI single by
Brett Blomquist. NGU added three runs in the 5th including a two-RBI double by
Landon Shaw. North Greenville would go scoreless for the final three innings while Coker added three runs in the 7th but left the bases loaded in the 9th as the Trailblazers would hang on for the victory.
Brady Price earned the win, his third of the year.
Brett Blomquist finished with three hits including a double as well as an RBI and a run scored.
Bryce Roddey posted three hits, two RBIs, and a run.
Landon Shaw recorded three hits including two doubles in addition to three runs and two RBIs.
North Greenville will take on the Tornado of King University in a weekend conference series beginning on Friday, April 18th in Bristol, Tennessee.
