Tigerville – North Greenville collected its second Conference Carolina's sweep of the season on Saturday with a pair of run-rule wins over Chowan University 16 – 0 (five innings) and 15 – 7 (six innings) wins over the Hawks.
NGU score 11 runs in the first inning of game one using a combination of walks and five hits to do the damage.
Emily Blackwell delivered the biggest base knock of the inning clearing the bases with a three – RBI double on a liner to center field.
Ansley Fowler also delivered an RBI base hit later in the inning.
The Trailblazers put up another crooked number in the third inning scoring four runs on five hits.
Maddie Stone and
Lexie Metcalf both delivered on RBI doubles while
Emily Dawson's single up the middle extended the lead to 15 – 0.
Ari Day would get credit for the final RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning that scored
McKenna Pry for the 16
th run.
Ali Hartin led NGU was 2 – 2 from the plate with two runs scored and an RBI for NGU.
Karley Green was 2 – 3 with a pair of runs while
Emily Blackwell led NGU with three RBI and was 1 – 2.
Kylie Rast improved to 8 – 1 on the season as the starting pitcher.
North Greenville found itself down early in game two as the Hawks combined for six runs in the second and third innings. The Trailblazers began chipping away at the lead in the bottom of the third as
Ari Day and
Ansley Fowler delivered RBI singles to cut it to 6 – 2.
North Greenville's most productive inning of the second game came in the fourth when seven runs came across to score.
Ali Hartin and came through with an RBI double during the frame while
Lexie Metcalf had an RBI single.
Sydney Price also picked up an RBI with a sacrifice fly during the frame. The Trailblazers put the game away in the sixth inning with five runs with five consecutive RBI singles that made it 15 – 7. Metcalf would be credited with the game winning RBI walk.
Ari Day once had a big game for NGU going 4 – 4 in game two with two runs scored and three RBI.
Ali Hartin was 3 – 5 with three runs and two RBI while
Karley Green was 2 – 4 with three runs scored and an RBI.
Georgia Lieb was credited with her first win of the season, pitching 3.2 innings with five punchouts. She allowed one run on just two hits.
