The North Greenville Trailblazers took an early lead but ultimately fell to the Wolves of Newberry College with a final score of 6-5 in Newberry, South Carolina. After a scoreless 1st inning, North Greenville took an early lead when Thomas Powell hit a two-run home run to right field. However, Newberry responded in the bottom of the inning with two runs of their own. NGU would reclaim the lead in the top of the 4th with another two-run home run to Thomas Powell, this time to left field. The Wolves once again responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to tie things up. Landon Peavy gave the Trailblazers the lead back in the top of the 5th with a solo shot to left field, but Newberry again scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to take a one run lead. Pitching for both teams shutout the two teams for the remainder of the game. NGU loaded the bases in the top of the 8th, but would ultimately strand the runners as Newberry would hang on to the lead. Oliver Adams recorded his first loss of the season.

Thomas Powell put together an impressive game, hitting two home runs and recording a total of four RBIs. Bret Blomquist also posted two hits including a double. Landon Peavy finished with a hit and NGU's only RBI not to be scored by Thomas Powell.

NGU will return to action on Friday, March 14th against the Bulldogs of Barton College at Ray & Bea Dillard Field.
