Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers led for the majority of the afternoon but ultimately fell to the Flying Fleet of Erskine College with a final score of 59-54 at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU never trailed during the first three quarters and even held a double-digit lead with 3:40 remaining in the third quarter. Erskine closed out the quarter with an 8-1 run and carried the momentum into the fourth quarter, taking the lead for the first time with 7:28 remaining in the game. The lead would change several times throughout the quarter, but free throws would allow the Flying Fleet to increase the lead, ultimately escaping Tigerville with a five-point victory. North Greenville struggled from the field, finishing with a .268 field goal percentage and making just four of twenty-three shots from three point range. NGU was able to take advantage of Erskine's twenty-eight turnovers which resulted in twenty-four points.
Amaijah Smith put together another impressive performance, finishing with twelve points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Maliyiah Mason finished one point short of a double-double, recording ten points and nine rebounds as well as two steals.
Quinn Johnston posted eight points and two rebounds.
NGU will face the Valkyries of Converse University on Tuesday, February 11th in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
