Tigerville – North Greenville split a non-conference series with Ohio Domincan winning 6 – 4 and falling 5 – 2.
The Trailblazers trailed by one run after ODU's first at bat of the day but North Greenville scored four unanswered runs to take a lead. NGU evened the score at 1 – 1 in the first inning on a
Karley Green RBI single. In the fourth inning NGU tacked on three runs with RBI single.
Virginia Bishop and
Lexie Metcalf added RBI base hits in the fourth inning and a third run on a passed ball to take a 4 – 1 lead. Domincan added a pair of runs in the fifth inning to pull to within one. The Trailblazers would get a needed insurance run in the home half of the fifth with an
Emily Dawson RBI single to make it 5 – 3.
Kylie Rast would come on to save the game for NGU in the bottom of the seventh as the Panthers stranded the game tying run on third base.
Emily Dawson and
Virginia Bishop led NGU with a 1 – 3 showing with an RBI each.
Karley Green was also 1 – 3 with an RBI.
Ali Hartin finished 1 – 1 with a run scored. Green earned the win for NGU in the circle to improve to 3 – 2 on the season.
In game two the Panthers held North Greenville without a hit until late in the game while the offense scored three runs in the first inning. The Trailblazers eventually broke through in the sixth inning with a pair of runs on an RBI double from Madison Stone. The Panthers sealed the game two win with two runs in the seventh inning.
NGU finished with three total hits led by Stone's RBI double.
Emily Blackwell and
Karley Green also tallied a hit.
