Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers ended a losing skid with a 72-66 victory over the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU fell behind early on as the first quarter ended with a 17-10 deficit. However, NGU would outscore the Bobcats in the remaining three quarters, narrowly leading in the 2nd and 3rd quarters while pulling away in the 4th quarter for a six point victory. Although turnovers proved to be very costly with Lees-McRae finishing the game with twenty-three points off turnovers, North Greenville led LMC in shooting with a .490 field goal percentage. The win improves North Greenville's record to 6-18 overall with a 6-12 record in conference play.
Maliyiah Mason finished the game with a double-double, posting seventeen points and fourteen rebounds while also providing two assists.
Grace Ikenegbu also recorded a double-double, recording ten points and ten rebounds along with a steal. Tabitha LIttlefield was impressive off the bench, finishing with sixteen points.
NGU will face the Braves of UNC Pembroke on Saturday, February 22nd in Pembroke, North Carolina.
