Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers were victorious over the Bobcats of Georgia College & State Bobcats with a final score of 67-56 this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU outscored the Bobcats in three of the four quarters and finished the game with a solid .400 field goal percentage. NGU led 18-12 at the end of the 1st quarter. GCSU held a three point lead late in the 2nd quarter, but the Trailblazers would put together a six point run at the end of the half to go into halftime with a 32-29 lead. The two teams put together similar performances in the 3rd quarter as North Greenville would score one more point than the Bobcats to lead 46-42. Georgia College & State would cool off from the field in the 4th quarter, allowing the Trailblazers to pull away, ultimately finishing the game with an eleven point lead.NGU led in second chance points 15-9 but were out gained by the Bobcats in points off turnovers 24-11.
Jayla Cook put together a solid performance, posting 15 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, and a block.
Amiyah Ware recorded 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Maliyiah Mason finished with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.
NGU will return to action on Tuesday, November 25th to take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats to open up conference play at Hayes Gymnasium.
