North Greenville Completes 4th Quarter Comeback to Defeat Johnson C. Smith

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers were able to overcome a 1st half deficit to complete a 53-51 comeback against the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. JCSU began the game with the momentum, leading throughout the first half and eventually building up to an eleven point lead before halftime. Both teams would score fifteen points in the 3rd quarter, allowing the Golden Bulls to hang on to a three point lead. Momentum would swing towards North Greenville in the 4th quarter, as NGU claimed their first lead of the game with 8:53 remaining. Tied with 49 seconds remaining, a layup would put the Trailblazers up by two. Johnson C. Smith would attempt a layup with just seconds remaining but would miss, allowing the Trailblazers to end the night with a victory by two points. North Greenville ended the night with a .370 field goal percentage. Both teams struggled with turnovers, finishing with 24 turnovers each for a total of 48 and 21 points off turnovers for each team.

Jayla Cook finished a big night with 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Kayla Gaston posted 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. Amiyah Clark-Lamelle recorded 11 points, 2 rebounds, an assist, and a steal.

NGU will return to action on Saturday, November 22nd against the Bobcats of Georgia College and State University at Hayes Gymnasium.
