Bobbitt, Basketball Surge Late but Fall to Tusculum

Box Score Tigerville, SC- Tonight, in Hayes Gymnasium, the North Greenville University Trailblazer Men's Basketball team played their first home game of the season against the Tusculum University Pioneers.

The Trailblazers nearly caught up during a surge in the second half after being down a 20-point deficit in the first half but ultimately fell short to Tusculum. NGU struggled early on, shooting a 0.400 field goal percentage compared to Tusculum's 0.452 field goal percentage, with a score of 42-25 after the first half. However, during the second half, the Trailblazers turned the tables, lifting their field goal percentage to 0.519 compared to Tusculum's 0.423. Additionally, the Trailblazers scored more points during the second half, 35-34. However, despite this effort, the final score was ultimately 76-60 in favor of Tusculum. Overall, NGU had the higher field goal percentage for the whole game, with an average of 0.462 and scored more than twice as many points in the paint than Tusculum with 30 total. 
 
Redshirt freshman Carter Bobbitt had an incredible day, playing the full 40 minutes of regulation and leading the Trailblazers in points, recording 19 total to his name. Additionally, Bobbitt led the entire game, for both teams, in rebounds with 8 total. 
 
Next the Trailblazers will take a road trip to Charleston, South Carolina to play the Citadel tomorrow on Wednesday, November 19th at 7 p.m.
