Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers suffered a 3-0 sweep by the Bearcats of Lander University this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU struggled overall, posting an attack percentage of just .081 for the match. Although the Trailblazers did lead the match in service aces with eight, they were outpaced in all other categories. Lander finished with a .297 attack percentage. Things began with a 9-2 run by Lander. Although NGU was able to get things going later in the set to trail by as little as five, the Bearcats would end the set with the final four points to take the opening set with a score of 25-16. A competitive set two began with North Greenville scoring the first three points. The set would remain competitive throughout, but the Bearcats would eventually come out on top with a score of 25-22. Set three would see the two teams keep things close, but a late run by Lander proved to be the difference as they would end the night early with a 25-19 set win.
Anna Fiddelke posted 12 kills and a solo block.
Samantha Ball recorded a double-double with10 kills and 11 digs as well as a service ace and a solo block.
Allison Ball provided 15 assists and 2 digs.
NGU will return to action on Friday, October 17th to take on the Patriots of Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina.
