The North Greenville Trailblazers were able to pull away in the second half for a non-conference win against the Owls of Warren Wilson College with a final score of 84-75 in Swannanoa, North Carolina. NGU held a narrow lead in the first half, going into halftime with a 43-40 lead. However, the Trailblazers pulled away in the second half by outscoring the Owls 41-35 and hanging on for the victory. North Greenville was able to limit turnovers as just seven did not lead to a single point while Warren Wilson committed twelve turnovers, which led to ten second chance points by NGU. The Trailblazers also led the way in points in the paint, fast break points, and bench points.
Justin Perry scored fifteen points off the bench along with four rebounds and two steals. Michael Wilson, Jr. put together a fourteen point performance with seven rebounds and two assists.
Jacob Brown neared a double-double, posting twelve points, nine rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, January 18th against the Hawks of Shorter University in Rome, Georgia.
