Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers put together a solid day offensively to defeat the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University with a final score of 70-50 at Hayes Gymnasium. After a competitive first quarter, NGU's best quarter was the second as a .647 percentage from the field led to twenty-four points and a 41-31 lead going at halftime. The two teams would match each other with eleven points each in the third quarter, but North Greenville would pull away in the fourth, outscoring the Warriors by ten to secure a twenty point victory. For the game, the Trailblazers shot .429 from the field while leading the way in points in the paint, points off turnovers, second chance points, and fast break points.
Tabitha Littlefield led the way for NGU, finishing with seventeen points as well as five rebounds, two steals, a block, and an assist.
Amaijah Smith came just one assist short of a double-double, posting eleven points, nine assists, three rebounds, and a steal.
Abi Oates scored eleven points as well and also provided five rebounds and two assists.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, January 18th against the Hawks of Shorter University in Rome, Georgia.
