Gastonia, NC - The North Greenville Crusaders bowed out of the Conference Carolinas Tournament tonight at CaroMont Health Park with a 9-4 loss to the Mount Olive Trojans. NGU led until the 6th inning, when walks as well as timely hitting by UMO gave the Trojans a lead that they would not relinquish. The Crusader pitchers struggled with their command as they would combine for fourteen walks throughout the evening.
Dawson Taylor was charged with the loss.
David Lewis went 2 for 4 with a home run as well as 2 RBIs, a run scored, and a walk.
Pat Monteith also posted 2 hits as well as 2 runs, an RBI, and a walk.
Dakota Britt posted 2 hits and an RBI.
NGU will return to action in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament.
