Gastonia, NC - The North Greenville Crusaders struggled at the plate in a 9-2 loss to the Erskine Flying Fleet at CaraMont Health Park. NGU finished the game with just five hits and five walks while an early lead by Erskine proved to be too much to come back from. The Flying Fleet struck early with a five run 2nd inning. NGU would get on the board with a run in the 3rd as an error allowed Bret Blomquist to score, but Erskine would increase their lead further with a run in the 4th and two additional runs in the 5th. The Crusaders put their second run in the board when a double play brought in Bret Blomquist. Pitching would take over in the late innings, but the Flying Fleet were able to get one last run on the board in the 8th. NGU would not be able to get the bats going as they would go quietly in the 9th.
