The North Greenville Crusaders began their Conference Carolinas Tournament with a dominant 16-3 victory over the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University this afternoon in Duncan, South Carolina. NGU started things off with a Virginia Biship RBI single in the 1st. However, SWU claimed the lead for themselves in the top of the 2nd with two runs. North Greenville quickly bounced back to reclaim the lead with six runs in the bottom of the inning including RBI doubles by
Virginia Bishop and
Ansley Fowler as well as a two-RBI single by
Karley Green and an RBI single by
Emily Blackwell. After the Warriors scored a run in the top of the 3rd, the Crusaders added to their lead with four runs in the bottom of the inning including a two-RBI triple by
Emily Blackwell. Five additional runs would go on to score in the top of the 4th including a two-RBI triple by
Karley Green and an RBI double by
Virginia Bishop.
Karley Green went on to pitch a complete game to receive the win.
Virginia Bishop went a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate with 2 doubles, 4 RBIs, and a run scored.
Emily Blackwell posted 2 hits including a triple as well as 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
Karley Green collected 2 hits at the plate including a triple in addition to 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
NGU will face the Mount Olive Trojans tomorrow at noon.
