The North Greenville Crusaders fell twice in a doubleheader against the Emmanuel Lions with final scores of 13-4 and 13-5 this afternoon in Franklin Springs, Georgia. North Greenville took an early lead in both games, but were unable to keep the high-powered lineup of the Lions from having the big inning as Emmanuel pulled away with an eight run 6th inning in game one and a six run 5th inning in game two. EU scored at least seven unanswered runs in both games to pull away for the wins.
Karley Green and
Sydney Clark were charged with the losses. The sweep moves North Greenville to 3rd place in the Southwest division of the Conference Carolinas standings.
Lexie Gunter put together a solid afternoon, posting 5 hits including 2 home runs and a double as well as 3 RBIs and 3 runs.
Ali Hartin recorded 3 hits, 2 runs scored, and an RBI.
Ansley Fowler provided 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and a run scored.
NGU will return to action tomorrow in Central, South Carolina against the Southern Wesleyan Warriors.
