The North Greenville Crusaders suffered a 15-7 loss to the Belmont Abbey College Crusaders this evening in Belmont, North Carolina. Belmont Abbey pulled away in the 1st quarter, outscoring NGU 6-1. North Greenville was able to take the momentum in the 2nd quarter, scoring four of five goals to trail by just two going into halftime. NGU continued to carry the momentum at the beginning of the 3rd, scoring the first two goals to tie the game at 7-7. Defense would take over for the remainder of the 3rd, but Belmont Abbey would go on to completely dominate the 4th quarter by scoring eight goals while shutting out North Greenville. Belmont Abbey led the evening in total shots 39-24 as well as ground balls 28-14. North Greenville led in total saves 13-12.
Emma Mayew led NGU with 4 goals and 3 draw controls.
Kylie Keen scored 2 goals and recorded 3 ground balls, a caused turnover, and a draw control.
Katie Keller also scored a goal.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, March 30th against the Bulldogs of Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina.
