NGU put together a 16-15 overtime victory over the Bulldogs of Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina. Barton led for the majority of the game, but a 4th quarter comeback by the Crusaders forced the game to go into overtime, where NGU would score the golden goal to secure the win. The first run would come by Barton in the first half by scoring four of five goals to lead 6-3. North Greenville would respond by scoring three of the next four to cut the deficit to one. However, the Bulldogs reclaimed the momentum by scoring the final goal of the first half as well as the first three goals of the 3rd quarter. Once again, the Crusaders bounced back by scoring four straight goals of their own. After two goals by Barton, NGU went on to score five of the final seven goals in regulation to force overtime. Just forty seconds into the overtime period,
Kylie Keen would put an end to the game with the golden goal. Barton led the game in shots 35-27 as well as ground balls 18-9. Both goalkeepers ended the game with a total of eight saves.
Lauren Crane finished the game with 4 goals, 4 draw controls, 3 ground balls, and a caused turnover.
Emma Mayew also posted 4 goals with an assist as well as 4 draw controls and a ground ball.
Kylie Keen scored 3 goals including the game-winner. She also recorded 4 draw controls.
North Greenville will return to action on Tuesday, April 2nd against the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University in Pepsi Stadium.
