Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders fell in conference play to the Hawks of Chowan University after a late goal resulted in an 11-10 victory for the Hawks this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. Momentum swings were common throughout the matchup as both teams scored three or more consecutive goals twice throughout the afternoon. After Chowan took a 4-2 lead to end the 1st quarter, the Crusaders outscored CU 4-1 in the 2nd to take a 6-5 lead into halftime. Each team scored a goal in the 3rd before the Hawks went on their second run of the game, scoring four goals in a row to lead 10-7. The Crusaders responded with three straight goals of their own to tie things up at 10-10 with just less than five minutes remaining. However, Chowan would strike late with a man-down goal with under a minute and a half remaining. NGU would get a late opportunity by putting up a shot with less than twenty seconds left, but the shot would be saved at the net to secure the win for the Hawks. North Greenville led the afternoon in total shots 30-19 as well as ground balls 12-10 and draw controls 10-9.

Kylie Keen also scored 2 goals and recorded 4 ground balls, a caused turnover, and a draw control.
North Greenville will return to action on Wednesday, March 27th against the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in Belmont, North Carolina.
