North Greenville Splits Pair of Shutouts with Converse

The North Greenville Crusaders split the day with the Valkyries of Converse University this afternoon in Spartanburg, South Carolina. NGU shutout the Valkyries and took game one with a final score of 10-0. The Crusaders led early on with a run in the 1st and two runs in the 2nd including an RBI double by Ali Hartin. After scoring two runs in the 5th, NGU would end any doubt with a five run 6th inning that including an RBI double by Emily Blackwell. Karley Green would go on to pitch a complete game with just two hits and no runs allowed. Game two would be a different story, however, as the Crusaders were kept off the scoreboard for a final score of 7-0. North Greenville managed just four hits throughout the game while Converse led early on with three runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings and never looked back. Sydney Clark, who pitched the first 4.1 innings, was charged with the loss.

Emily Blackwell finished the day with 4 hits including a double. She also went on to post 3 runs scored as well as an RBI. Virginia Bishop also recorded 4 hits including a double as well as 2 RBIs and a run scored.
