Tigerville – North Greenville notched back-to-back shutouts on Tuesday afternoon with 2 – 0 and 8 – 0 wins over Mars Hill College in non-conference play.
The Crusaders leaned on one of
Karley Green's best performances of the year while scattering a pair of runs around six hits.
Emily Blackwell reached base in the third inning and would come around to score on an errant throw to make it 1 – 0. North Greenville scratched an insurance run in the fifth inning on an RBI by Karly Green.
Green would shut down the Mars Hill Lineup allowing just three hits across seven innings of work. She struck-out nine during the process en route to her sixth win of the season.
Emily Blackwell and Green led the Crusaders with a pair of hits in three plate appearances each. Blackwell scored both of NGU's runs.
In game two,
Maddie Gore and
Sydney Clark would combined to hold the Lions scoreless once again. Offensively North Greenville added runs in each of the five innings including a pair of runs in each of the second and third innings.
Karley Green continued her solid day with a team high two – hits and an RBI.
Emily Blackwell and
Lexie Gunter each had a pair of RBI on a hit each.
Maddie Gore earned her first win of the season after throwing four innings and allowing just two hits. Clark threw the final two frames and struck-out three while holding the Lions to just two hits.
