Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers scored a season-low thirty-eight points in a double-digit loss to the undefeated Hawks of Chowan University with a final score of 51-38 this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium. A competitive first half resulted in just a four point lead for Chowan going into halftime. NGU would outscore the Hawks in the third quarter by one point to hold just a three point deficit going into the fourth quarter. However, North Greenville would convert just one field goal in the fourth and score just four total points, allowing the Hawks to pull away and ultimately leave Tigerville with a thirteen point win. Offensive rebounds fell heavily in favor of Chowan as they would finish the game with eighteen offensive rebounds, leading to thirteen second chance points. With the loss, NGU moves to 2-9 for the year with a 2-2 record in conference play.
Ja'Mari Frederick led the way for NGU, finishing with eight points, five rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and a steal.
Tabitha Littlefield also recorded eight points along with three blocks, two steals, an assist, and a rebound.
Maliyiah Mason posted five points, six rebounds, a a steal.
NGU will return to action after the new year, taking on the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College on Wednesday, January 8th in Banner Elk, North Carolina.
