Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers recorded their second win both overall and in conference by defeating the Tornado of King University this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium with a final score of 56-50. The two teams finished the day with similar field goal percentages for the game, with the Tornado slightly leading the category with a .362 percentage while North Greenville finished with a .345 percentage. King's struggles from three point territory as well as the free throw line proved to be the difference in the game. The Tornado shot just .100 from behind the arc while making just a third of their eighteen free throws. NGU also struggled from three point territory, but had the better percentage at .227 while making eleven of twenty free throws. The win improves North Greenville's overall record to 2-8 with a 2-2 record in conference play.
Amaijah Smith led NGU with eighteen points, five assists, and four rebounds.
Abi Oates posted nine points as well as six rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Ja'Mari Frederick recorded eight points, six steals, five rebounds, and four assists.
NGU will return to action on Tuesday, December 17th to take on the Hawks of Chowan University at Hayes Gymnasium.
