The North Greenville Crusaders put together two winning performances this afternoon in Greenwood, South Carolina with final scores of 3-0 against the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters and 3-1 against the Elizabeth City State Vikings. NGU trailed in blocks for both matches but led the way in all other categories, finishing match one with a .183 attack percentage and match two with a .115 percentage.
Match one of the day resulted in the Crusaders finishing with a .183 attack percentage. NGU dominated the match in service aces 8-3. Although NGU finishing the opening set with a .000 attack percentage, they would hang on to take the set. The Crusaders would lead LMU in sets two and three, including a dominant .458 attack percentage in set three to win by twelve. Match two resulted in a .115 attack percentage that included a negative percentage in the opening set. Trailing 1-0, North Greenville would tie Elizabeth City State in set two with a .105 percentage and narrowly taking the set with a score of 25-23. Set three proved to be NGU's strongest of the match as a .273 percentage led to a 25-14 one-sided set win. ECSU struggled in the final set, posting a -0.192 attack percentage and allowing North Greenville to take a 25-12 set win to close things out.
Abigail Durham once again led the way in kills for both matches, finishing with a total of 24 kills.
Samantha Ball finished her day with 20 kills.
Ashlyn Conner provided a total of 61 assists and 22 digs.
The Crusaders will finish off their participation in the Redderson Invitational against Fayetteville State University tomorrow at 12:30 PM.
