Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put up a good fight but ultimately fell short in both games to the Georgia College & State Bobcats with final scores of 8-6 and 9-1 on a sunny but windy afternoon at Jan McDonald Field. NGU took an early lead in game one with a two run home run by Brianna McRae. The Bobcats took the lead for themselves in the third inning before the Crusaders tied things back up in the bottom of the inning thanks to a Karley Green home run. Both teams would keep the runs going, but a late run by North Greenville in the sixth was not enough as the Bobcats were able to hang on for a two run victory. Karley Green was the losing pitcher. Sydney Clark took the mound for the Crusaders in game two. Pitching would control the game early on, with just one run for each team scored in the opening three innings. However, things would change in the fourth when the Bobcats took the lead with a run in the fourth. The lead would open up in the fifth with another run, which was followed by six runs in the sixth. North Greenville went three up, three down in the bottom of the inning as the game would come to an early end due to the run rule. Sydney Clark was charged with the loss.
