The North Greenville Crusaders ended the week with a sweep of the Emmanuel Lions, finishing the series with final scores of 9-5 and 5-3 in Franklin Springs, Georgia. NGU was able to get on the board early and often in the first three innings of game one, scoring eight straight runs to lead 8-0. Emmanuel put up a fight with two runs in the third and three runs in the fourth to draw back within three. The Crusaders would put an insurance run on the board in the sixth inning.
Dawson Taylor pitched the final 1.1 innings, retiring all four batters faced to secure the victory and the series.
Reece Fields, who pitched the first 5.2 innings with just two earned runs allowed, was the winning pitcher. Game two began with a run by Emmanuel. NGU would score the next two runs, one in the second and one in the third. After a scoreless fourth inning, the Lions would take the lead with two runs in the fifth. However, NGU would respond with two runs of their own in the top of the sixth followed by an additional run in the seventh.
Michael Rodriguez recorded the save in the ninth by striking out the side.
Nate Roof, who pitched 3.0 innings in relief, was the winning pitcher.
