Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders began the weekend conference series with a 19-6 victory over the Erskine Flying Fleet at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. Erskine led early on with a run in the first and a run in the second, but NGU would take over things in the bottom of the second with five runs. North Greenville would put the game out of reach throughout the next four innings, scoring three runs in the third, a run in the fourth, four runs in the fifth, and five runs in the sixth. The Flying Fleet would put up a fight with three runs in the sixth and an additional run in the seventh, but NGU would still go on to take the opening game by a comfortable margin. NGU would put one more run on the board in the bottom of the eighth. North Greenville finished the day with five home runs including an inside-the-park home run by
David Lewis in the sixth inning.
Caleb Cox pitched the first five innings, and went on to earn the win.
