Greenville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders consistently pulled away throughout a 16-5 win against the Lander Bearcats this evening in Greenville, South Carolina. NGU scored in all but two innings, the second and the ninth. NGU quickly got on the board with a five run first inning. Lander was able to cut the deficit down to two with three runs in the third. North Greenville would extend the lead back to five with one run in each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings including a solo home run by
Pat Monteith. After Lander responded with two runs in the fifth, the Crusaders would put the game on ice with a runs in the sixth, four runs in the seventh including a home run by John Michael Faile, and three runs in the eighth.
Matthew Taubensee was credited with win, pitching 1.1 perfect innings with a strikeout.
