North Greenville began the week with a 13-4 victory over the Lions of Mars Hill University this afternoon in Mars Hill, North Carolina. The Crusaders finished the day with thirteen runs on eight hits and eleven walks while holding the Lions to just four runs on nine hits and five walks. After a scoreless first, NGU took the lead and added to it with two runs in the second, a run in the third, and a
Marek Chlup home run to add three runs to the board in the fourth. Mars Hill would get on the board in the fifth with a home run of their own. However, the Crusaders would respond with a two run home run by
Cory Bivins in the sixth followed by five runs in the seventh including a bases-clearing triple by
Bryce Roddey. MHU would score the final two runs of the game in the seventh, but North Greenville pitching would allow just one hit in the final two innings to secure the win.
