NGU Starts Off Weekend Conference Series with Win Over UNC Pembroke

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders began a big conference weekend series with a 7-1 victory over the 13th ranked Braves of UNC Pembroke on a warm but windy afternoon at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. NGU led the hit column 7-6 while both teams committed one error. Noah Takac pitched the first five innings and received the win. Cory Bivins put the Crusaders on the board in the second with a three run home run. After two scoreless innings, NGU would add to the lead with two runs int he fifth and after the Braves put their only run on the board in the top of the sixth, North Greenville responded in the bottom of the inning with two more runs in the bottom of the inning. Pitching would take over as the final three innings went scoreless, with North Greenville's Carter Dierdorf pitching the final two innings to secure the win.
