Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders needed extra innings, but ultimately came out on top against the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University with a final score of 4-3 in ten innings this afternoon at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. Solid pitching by both pitching staffs dominated the game early on, but eventually the Crusaders would get on the board when
Cory Bivins hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. However, LMU would immediately respond with a solo shot in the top of the sixth to tie the game back up. That tie wouldn't last long, though, as a
Jax Cash RBI single put North Greenville back up by one in the bottom of the inning. A fielding error in the seventh would allow NGU to get an insurance run on the board, which would be much needed as the Railsplitters scored a run of their own in the eighth then tied the game with a solo home run in the ninth. After a scoreless top of the tenth, NGU would take the win in walk-off fashion as
Bryce Roddey came through with an RBI double to right field.
Michael Rodriguez pitched the final inning and earned the win.
