The North Greenville Crusaders began the weekend conference series against the Tornado of King University with two shutouts, defeating the Tornado 8-0 in game one and 20-0 in game two. After three scoreless innings to begin the opener, NGU was able to get on the board with four runs including two RBI singles by
Jalen Vasquez and
Pat Monteith. An RBI groundout would add to the lead in the sixth, then NGU scored an RBI single in the eighth and a sacrifice fly and an RBI groundout in the ninth.
Caleb Cox pitched 5.0 strong innings and was the winning pitcher. Game two was completely dominated by the Crusaders, only failing to score in one inning. NGU put a total of 20 in both the run and hit column while both teams committed one error. John Michael Faile hit his third home run of the year in the fifth inning.
Reece Fields, who started the game and pitched 5.0 shutout innings was the winning pitcher.
