Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a thrilling fight but came up just short this afternoon against the Cavaliers of UVA Wise with a final score of 11-9 this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. NGU started off with the momentum, scoring three of the first four goals. However, the Cavaliers would take the momentum by scoring five of the next six goals to lead 6-4. NGU would close out the half with two of the final three goals to trail by just one at halftime.
Kylie Keen would score the only goal of the third quarter as the two teams would be tied at 7-7 going into the fourth quarter. Early on, NGU would take its first lead since the first quarter. However, that would not last long as UVA Wise would score the next three to lead by two.
Dani O'Meara would cut the deficit down to one with a free position goal, but the Cavaliers would put the dagger in the heart with a late goal off a turnover to hang on to win by two.
