The top-ranked North Greenville Crusaders were shocked by the Jaguars of Augusta University this afternoon with a 12-4 loss in Augusta, Georgia. NGU scored first in the top of the second, but the Jaguars would then score the next six runs throughout the next five innings. Three runs in the top of the seventh would give North Greenville new signs of life, but that would not last long as Augusta would respond with a run in the bottom of the inning then put the game on ice with five runs in the eighth. The Crusaders didn't go down without a fight, loading the bases in the top of the ninth. However, Augusta would record two fly outs to retire the side without a run given up.
Cole Long was charged with the loss.
