The North Greenville Crusaders played tough but ultimately came up just short in a 16-14 loss against the Pioneers of Tusculum University this afternoon in Greeneville, Tennessee. NGU trailed 3-0 early on but scored three goals of their own to tie things back up. From there, Tusculum would dominate the remainder of the first half, scoring six of the final seven goals to take a 9-4 lead into halftime. However, North Greenville would come out fighting in the third quarter, scoring five of the first six goals of the half to cut the deficit down to one. After the Pioneers scored two, the Crusaders would score four of the next five to tie the score at 13-13.
Dani O'Meara would score the final goal of the match, but not before the Pioneers strung three goals together to go up by three late and hanging on to win by two.
