Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders started off their regional play with a 6-4 victory over the Braves of UNC Pembroke. A rough 1st inning for the Crusaders allowed the Braves to pull ahead to a 4-0 lead.
Marek Chlup would drive in a run in the bottom of the inning to get NGU on the board. North Greenville went on to score six total runs, all unanswered. The Crusaders showed off their power at the plate with four extra-base hits with three of them being home runs.
Thomas Skipper pitched 3.0 shutout innings and recorded his second win of the season.
Brent Herlong pitched the final two innings for his first save of the season.

- Pat Monteith went four for five at the plate, hitting two home runs and recording three wuns and two RBIs.
- Marek Chlup also put together a solid day, posting three hits including a triple as well as four RBIs, a walk, and a run.
- Thomas Skipper pitched 3.0 no-hit innings, allowing just a walk and a hit-by-pitch while recording a strikeout.

- NGU will face the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne University in a doubleheader tomorrow starting at noon. If the two teams split the doubleheader, a third game between the two teams will be played on Saturday, May 21st.
