NGU Pulls Away in Fourth Quarter to Advance to Semifinals

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders fought hard in a tightly-contested matchup this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium, but a strong 4th quarter propelled NGU over the Lions of Emmanuel College with a final score of 16-13 to advance the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. NGU fell behind early on as the Lions scored the first two goals. However, the Crusaders would then score four unanswered goals throughout the remainder of the quarter to lead 4-2 after one. Both teams would score their share of goals in the 2nd quarter with Emmanuel leading the quarter 5-4 to trail by just one at halftime. The Lions would also narrowly outscore NGU in the 3rd quarter 3-2 to take a tie game into the 4th. From there, North Greenville would run away with things, scoring six goals in the quarter while Emmanuel would manage three. The two teams ended the match nearly even in total shots with Emmanuel taking just one more than NGU for a total of 33. With the victory, the Crusaders advance to the semifinals, where they will take on the Trojans of Mount Olive.
