The North Greenville Crusaders came up victorious over the Royals of Queens University with a final score of 12-6 in Gastonia, North Carolina. After grabbing an early lead after a wild pitch allowed
Gehrig Octavio to score in the 1st, Queens would get on the board in the 3rd and take the lead with three runs in the inning. The Crusaders were able to cut into the deficit with a run in the 4th, but the Royals claimed a run of their own in the 5th to go back up by two. From there, NGU was able to get the bats going, scoring two runs in the 6th, five runs in the 7th, and three runs in the 8th. North Greenville's first home run didn't come until the 8th inning when
Jax Cash hit a solo shot. Not long after,
Cory Bivins would hit a homer of his own to bring in the second and third runs of the inning.
Brent Herlong and
Dawson Taylor both pitched shutout innings in the 8th and 9th, preserving the win.
