Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders won both games in today's doubleheader with final scores of 4-3 and 17-3 to complete the sweep against the Lions of Emmanuel College this afternoon at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. With the sweep, the Crusaders have clinched the regular season championship. After a low-scoring but competitive game one, the Crusaders jumped ahead early with nine runs in the first two innings. Emmanuel would get on the board with two runs in the 4th, but NGU would pull away from there with four runs in the 5th, a run in the 7th, and three runs in the 8th.
Brent Herlong would highlight the 8th inning with his first collegiate at-bat, which resulted in a double down the right field line. He also received the win in game one while
Michael Rodriguez recorded his second win of the season in game two.
