NGU Sweeps Chowan in Dominating Fashion

The North Greenville Crusaders completed a sweep of the Hawks of Chowan University, narrowly winning game one of the day with a score of 3-1 then completely dominating game two with a final score of 24-8 in eight innings, with the final inning being canceled due to darkness. North Greenville combined for twenty-eight hits throughout the day while also drawing fourteen walks. Reece Fields took the start for NGU in the first game of the day and pitched a complete game, allowing just one run on five hits and a walk while striking out fourteen. Matthew Taubensee took the mound to start game two. He pitched just 4.0 innings but did earn the win as the Crusaders found themselves up 18-3 when he left the game. Seven Crusaders had a multi-hit game while Darrien Whitaker posted his first collegiate hit, which was also a home run.
