Tigerville, SC -
Josh Senter was the hero for North Greenville two times in one day as he put up both walk-off hits with one being a home run in 3-2 and 9-8 wins over the Mount Olive Trojans to complete the weekend sweep on a sunny but extremely windy day at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. Game one saw NGU control the game with a small lead throughout the majority of the game. However, that would change when two runs would come across for Mount Olive in the 6th to tie things up at 2-2. With one out in the bottom of the 7th,
Josh Senter would hit a walk-off home run to right field, putting an end to the threat of extra innings and clinching the series for the Crusaders.
Brent Herlong, who pitched the final two innings of the game, earned the win. Game two was controlled early on by the Trojans, who would jump out to a 6-1 lead after just three innings. Mount Olive would get two more across to go ahead 8-1 going into the bottom of the 6th. From there, the bats woke up for North Greenville. The comeback began with a sacrifice fly by
Tanner Wells in the bottom of the 6th. A two-run homer by
Jax Cash, an RBI single up the middle by
Gehrig Octavio, and a sacrifice fly by
John Michael Faile would get the Crusaders back within two.
Pat Monteith would double down the third base line to bring in a run to draw within a single run. The tying run would indeed score in the bottom of the 9th by way of an RBI single by
John Michael Faile. With one out and the bases loaded,
Josh Senter would once again come through with a single up the middle to bring in the winning run.
Nathan Barolet pitched the final two innings to take the win.
