Tigerville, SC - After falling in game two of the series, the North Greenville Crusaders rallied in thrilling fashion to defeat the Francis Marion Patriots and take the conference series. Game one was dominated by the NGU lineup as the Crusaders would score in all seven innings to take a one-sided 15-6 victory.
Cory Bivins and
Marek Chlup both homered in the game while Chlup as well as
Pat Monteith recorded triples.
Reece Fields recorded his second win of the season. Francis Marion's momentum from the end of the first game carried over to the second game as the Patriots would score four runs in the 1st, a run in the 2nd, and another in the 3rd to lead 6-0.
Marek Chlup drove in a run in the 3rd to get the Crusaders on the board. Down 7-2 in the 8th, after RBI singles by
Pat Monteith and
Jax Cash,
Cory Bivins would tie the game with a three-run home run to left field. Then,
Ethan Stringer would put NGU ahead with a homer to left center.
Tristen Hudson, who pitched the final 3.0 innings and allowed just one run, would get the win.
