Tigerville – North Greenville dropped a non-conference double-header to Limestone College on Thursday by scores of 14-3 and 6-2.
NGU surrendered 18-hits in the game one loss while delivering five hits of its own. The Saints scored five runs in the second inning to take an early lead. The Crusaders plated a pair of runs in the in the fifth inning, but not before the Saints extended their lead with a run in each of the third and fourth innings.
Lexis Wilkinson plated NGU's first run of the day with an RBI single while
Brianna McRae doubled to left-field scoring Wilkinson from second. The Crusaders added another run in the seventh inning on a solo homer from
Claire Gilmore. The Saints tacked on another run in the sixth and added six more in the seventh.
Lexis Wilkinson led North Greenville with a pair of hits with a run and an RBI. McRae and
Josie Reed added a hit each.
Limestone got off to another fast start in game two with a pair of runs in the first inning and three more two innings later in the third. Starter
Hailey Wells settled in in the fourth, holding the Saints to just one more run which came in the seventh.
The Crusaders finished game two with seven hits but stranded seven.
Brianna McRae delivered her second RBI and run of the day with a solo homer in the sixth inning to make it 4-1. The Crusaders got another single run in the seventh inning when
Lexis Wilkinson came around to score on a
Claire Gilmore single.
McRae finished game two with a pair of hits, a run, and an RBI. She finished the day with three hits and a pair of RBI to lead the team.
