North Greenville split the day with a 13-12 loss to the Francis Marion Patriots and a 4-2 victory over the Lander Bearcats on a long afternoon in Greenwood, South Carolina. The Crusaders fell behind early in game one but recovered to take the lead in the 6th inning. However, the Patriots quickly reclaimed the lead in the top of the 7th, and although NGU was able to get one run across in the 9th to cut the deficit to a single run with two runners on base, the game would come to an abrupt end with two straight strikeouts. Game two saw Lander score a run in the 1st and 2nd innings to lead 2-0 early on. NGU responded with a run in the top of the 3rd and would eventually even things up with another run in the 6th. Late in the game, the Crusaders took the lead with a run in the 8th and scored an insurance run in the 9th.
Brent Herlong pitched the final 2.2 innings, earning the win and giving up just one hit and no walks while striking out two.
