Tigerville – North Greenville football welcomed six newcomers to Tigerville this week including Jaiden Clayton, Joseph Dilly, Nathan Storch, Thomas Vinson, Corey Wakins, and Keveion 'Tay' McCroey.
Five of the six additions are transfers while McCroey makes his way to Tigerville as a true freshman from Northwestern High School. Tay McCroey is a 5-11 160 LB defensive back.
He is one of two defensive players to enroll in January including Jaiden Clayton, a linebacker who comes to NGU from Limestone College. Clayton, a 6-1 grad student, finished with 43-tackles for the Saints last season with a pair of sacks and three tackles for a loss.
Nathan Storch, a 6-0 230 LB tight end found his way to Tigerville from Charleston, South Carolina where he played for The Citadel. The freshman played B-Back for the Bulldogs in their triple-option attack, seeing action in four games as a true freshman. He rushed for a career-high 87-yards and a pair of scores against NGU in the fall and finished with 164-yards and four scores.
NGU brought in a pair of tailbacks including Corey Watkins, a transfer from Furman University. Watkins, a 5-9, 198 LB sophomore has been out of football since 2019 but played in 21-games for the Paladins from 2018 to 2019, rushing for 883 yards and four touchdowns on 117-attempts. Also bolstering the backfield for NGU is Brevard College transfer Joseph Dilly, a 6-1, 195 LB freshman. Thomas Vinson, an offensive lineman transfer moves to Tigerville from Gaffney where he spent the 2021 season with Limestone College.
NGU's coaching staff will look to add more talent to the Roster on February 2nd, National Signing Day.
